On Wednesday April 30, the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging invited the Community Security Initiative (CSI) to testify at its hearing on antisemitism. Rebecca Federman, Senior Director of CSI’s Intelligence Desk, provided the committee with a briefing on the current threat landscape facing Jewish communities in New York and across the country.
Rebecca spoke with authority, responding to questions from Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and other members of the committee on topics related to CSI’s campus security initiative, continued support to the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP), and emerging threats in the deep and dark web.
Our invitation to testify before the United States Senate is not only a significant milestone— it reflects how far this initiative has grown since its founding in late 2019.
